Try the mini archaeology dig zones or Toddler Town, aimed at under-fives, and pick up a family trail. General museum hours are Tuesday–Friday 10am–5pm and weekends 11am–5pm. Galleries normally close Mondays; bank-holiday opening and separate Brodrick Hall activities are listed on the visitor page.

Facilities: Café, highchairs, baby changing, Changing Places toilet and lifts to all floors. Picnic space is available at weekends and during school holidays.
